O.V.S. Bulleid's Locos - The Survivors

As main-line steam services in the U.K. were run down in the 1960s, a few Bulleid designed locomotives aquired new owners as running locomotives, but most were cut up at various scrapyards and recycled.  Faring slightly better were those sent to Dai Woodham's scrapyard in Barry, S.Wales;  and one by one, locomotives were purchased by private groups.  This is a list of all the locomotives that survive - some still rusty wrecks - others recently overhauled and in service.  Where known, a link to an individual locomotive is shown in the Owner column, as a slightly deeper colour.

The information above, shown for interest, has been gleaned from a number of sources, but may not be totally accurate.  Because a location is shown this should not be taken to imply that the locomotive is present, or that there is public access to it.  Private arrangements should be be made with the owners if wishing to view a particular locomotive.
